To begin this blog I would like to give you a little history on the town of Shull’s Mill, the town in which Whispering Waters was originally at the heart of. Shull’s Mill is a town rich with history, which began long before Boone became the city that it is today. At the time of its peak it is said that Shull’s Mill had a population of 1000 and was filled with shops, such as the Shull’s Mill General Store, which was built in 1850 and still resides on Whispering Waters Farm. The original Tweetsie railroad also ran through the center of the town and is distinctly marked on the property with an aisle of large shrubs. It has many different stories associated with the farm a lot of which are rooted in the history of the Shull family, the original owners of the farm.
The farm itself is located close to Boone, Blowing Rock, and Linville making it a central location for the surrounding areas. It also has gorgeous views of the Watauga River and even Grandfather Mountain from its property making it a unique backdrop for any event you may have planned.
